1.
What is CrazyWorld Cafe?

CrazyWorld Cafe Front Entrance

On most days, we are a normal café serving humble western dishes, mum’s chicken curry, cakes, waffles, craft beers, coffees, teas and smoothies.

CrazyWorld hosts regular exhibitions by local photographers, artists, illustrators and more.
These exhibitions are changed about once every 2 months and are free to view. Dining charges apply.

The café is open from:

Tue, Wed, Thu : 12pm – 1030pm
Fri : 12pm to 12am
Sat : 1pm to 12am
Sun  : closed (only open for events)
Mon : closed (rest day)

Retail Merchandise – “Let’s Play” childhood games by FARM

We also have a little retail section selling products made and designed by local designers, as well as CDs by local and regional indie singers or bands.

Performances at the cafe take place on an ad-hoc basis (announcements are made through our website, Facebook and mailing list), and the cafe does not have any resident singers or bands.

CrazyWorld’s policy is to not serve food during all performances.

4. When are there performances at CW?

Katncandix2 棉花糖 (TW)’s performance on 8th Oct 2010

Performances at CW take place in 2 different formats:

I / Showcases (Ticketed)
take place on an ad hoc basis and will be announced on our Facebook page or through various media such as radio and magazines. Showcases are usually ticketed unless tied in with other events.

No food will be available during showcases, out of respect for the performers on stage.
Just think about showcases at CW like mini concerts! However, canned drinks can be bought at the door for those who are really thirsty :)

II / Open Stage (Entry fee)

OpenStage is an initiative by CrazyWorld Café to provide a sharing platform for new performers, music students and anyone who has a love for the stage, to showcase their talents.
If you’ve always wanted to showcase your vocals, your guitar skills or musical talents, this is your chance to perform!

OpenStage Featuring! is a series in line with CrazyWorld’s OpenStage that seeks to feature performers from past OpenStages who would like to take on the challenge of a full hour show.

• $10 entry fee, includes a drink (payment at the door). Reservations are encouraged.

• Your entry fee is split* between CrazyWorld & the performers, and it helps us pay our utility bills, rental, manpower, as well as the transport & misc costs of the hardworking performers.
(*due to logistical issues, only performers in the OpenStage Featuring! series will be remunerated).

• Out of respect for the performers on stage, no food will be served :)

7. Why do we have to pay for tickets / entry fees?

For the effort and time that the performers have put into preparing for their showcases, CW is dedicated to making sure that all singers and their musicians can be deservedly ‘paid’ and valued for what they do :)
At the same time, a portion goes to the cafe to cover basic operating costs like rental, manpower, utilities and the printing of collaterals.

8. How do we buy tickets?

I / Showcases (Ticketed)

Once a showcase is announced, tickets will be available for sale online at www.crazyworldcafe.com or directly at our café located at 24 Temple Street. For more details, please refer to http://www.crazyworldcafe.com/tix-sales-terms-conditions/ or mail to: crew@crazyworldcafe.com

II / Open Stage (Entry fee)

You are not required to purchase tickets or register to watch Open Stages. The entry fee can be paid for at the door. Alternatively, if you are intending to have dinner before the performance, a spending of $10 and above per person, on F&B would offset the $10 OpenStage entry fee.
